These organizations offer evidence-based information, advocacy and support for midwives and families. All of them promote a woman-centered approach to pregnancy and childbirth.

Midwives Alliance of North America (MANA) is an inclusive midwifery association that is dedicated to the professional development and continuing education of midwives. MANA holds an annual national conference where midwives and midwifery students come together to exchange ideas and improve their skills.

 

 

 

North American Registry of Midwives (NARM) sets the standards for the Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) credential, which is designated for those midwives with knowledge and experience in out-of-hospital settings.

 

 

 

 

California Association of Midwives (CAM) works at the state level to support legislation that advances the autonomy of midwives and expands access to midwifery care for all families regardless of income level or geographic location.

 

 

 

San Diego Birth Network (SDBN) connects families with pregnancy, birth and postpartum professionals. In addition to featuring a list of providers on its website, SDBN hosts monthly socials and sponsors classes available to the public.

 

 

 

San Diego County Breastfeeding Coalition utilizes education and community outreach to promote and support breastfeeding in the San Diego area.
